“President Obama’s actions will help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies, abortions and women dying from high-risk pregnancies because they don’t have access to family planning,” said Tod Preston, a vice president at Population Action International.
NY Times article here.Really, Tod?! The executive order that President Obama reversed this week did nothing to stop abortions for pregnancies with risk to the mother. And please, someone show me a person who chose NOT to have an abortion after going to a "family planning" clinic. I can almost see a connection between trying to promote "global economic development" (as Pres. Obama put it) and fewer unwanted pregnancies in developing countries, but that really felt to me like one of those things college freshman stick on the end of a lit/comp paper to try and finish with a generalized, vague bang.
